Circuits and LBT are classes where you can work at your own level to improve or maintain your fitness. All exercises have low and high intensity options so that each class is tailored to individuals’ abilities. Age ranges within these classes are generally between early 20’s and mid 60’s / early 70’s!
Circuits consists of 12 to 15 stations which include some cardiovascular stations that can be carried out at low or high intensity depending on your fitness level. The other stations use either dumbbells or kettlebells (different weights available), fit-balls, resistance bands or just your own body weight, to work and tone various muscles throughout your body. Each station lasts 1 minute 20 seconds so if you hate the station it isn’t long until it is over!
LBT (Legs, Bums and Tums) is split into 3 distinct parts:
– A cardiovascular section (low or high intensity depending on the fitness level of the individual) interspersed with MSE (Muscular Strength Endurance – squats, lunges, leg curls etc.).
-A matwork section – for toning
-A relaxation section
Both of these classes are mixed ability, everybody comes to either get fit, keep fit or lose weight while having fun!
Classes have been running for over 6 years with new people joining regularly. We even have the occasional evening out to socialise together (not compulsory!) Mind you I do tend to work everyone extra hard in the following class to work off all that we ate!
